About Garden Designer - Inge Berrie
In 2008 I graduated from the Garden Design School in Cobham as part of a career change. Shortly after graduation I successfully achieved a City and Guilds qualification in weeds, pests and diseases which has been invaluable over the years and benefitted many clients.
I am very passionate about garden design and regularly attend continuing professional courses and talks which helps me to keep abreast of the latest designs and developments in my field. This helps me enhance my skills and create exciting yet functional garden designs.
Inspiration is gained from images both in magazines, books, social media and visiting garden shows. One of my favourite inspirations is from breathtakingly beautiful scenery I come across on holiday. Often a small, yet interesting detail in a garden, landscape or building can inspire me to use the idea on a larger scale.
Garden Design Software
I use the highly effective Vectorworks software and now all my designs are completed using this versatile garden landscaping software. It allows me to see the garden design in 3D therefore my clients have a clearer visual representation of their future garden design. My extensive plant knowledge is reflected in the detailed planting plans produced using Vectorworks.
Whether you wish to transform a small or large garden, my goal is always to produce a beautiful and sustainable garden which looks good all year round by selecting attractive plants and flowers which will perform well throughout the year, yet are easy to maintain.
The environment is important to me and I encourage my clients to garden as eco friendly as possible and to consider how environmentally friendly the materials are which are used in the garden.

Advantages of Employing a Garden Designer
There are many advantages to hiring a professional landscape garden designer to transform your space:
- The garden will be built according to a design which has been created jointly by you and the garden designer.
- The garden landscaper/ builder will have plans drawn to scale when building the garden structures, resulting in little or no room for error at the building stage.
- The plans can be used by landscapers/builders to give accurate quotes for the work.
- The planting design comes with a price list of plants so that you can prioritise the purchasing of plants according to your budget.
- The plants are selected according to your soil type and the amount of light they will receive in the garden and how they work together visually.
- Plants can be purchased for you, delivered and planted.
- Attractive, low maintenance gardens are achievable.
- A consultancy service is available which allows you to discuss anything related to the garden from types of plants to put in pots, to advice on hard landscaping.
- A follow up high quality garden maintenance service is available with an insured gardener.
